Amy has been dancing with Stapleton School of Dancing since the age of three working her way up through the grades of ballet, tap, modern and jazz. After leaving school, she went on to study dance at Dance Academy South West. This gave her the opportunity to appear on stage at the Bristol Hippodrome in performances such as “Aida” and “Turandot”.
During her time at Dance Academy South West Amy took part in competitions and shows where she won commendations for her choreography.
Amy also performed at the Youth Dance England sub-regional finals in January 2008 working with professional dance choreographer Marie-Louise Flexen through Dance South Gloucestershire.
Amy continued to study further when she was asked to teach hip hop for SSD in 2010 working alongside Miranda Beard and Samantha Axford as well as other experienced teachers. Amy was thrilled when she was approached in 2013 to take over as principal of SSD and now continues to uphold the standards and ethos of the school, which has been well established by Miranda and Sam.
As current principal, Amy prides herself in maintaining standards, keeping the friendly, family atmosphere of a professionally run dance school, instilling a sense of self confidence and self-discipline and inspiring a love of movement and dance.
